"The Incomer" settles into The Beverly Theater's intimate main stage for a screening that fits right into the venue's habit of championing films you won't find at the multiplex down the street. With just 150 seats in the house, there's a closeness to the experience here, the kind where you can hear the person next to you catch their breath during a quiet scene, and the acoustics do real justice to whatever sound design the film brings along.

Details on the plot and cast remain sparse, which tracks with the kind of under-the-radar programming The Beverly tends to favor, films that reward curiosity more than familiarity. Arrive a little early if you want to grab a drink from the cocktail lounge or catch some air on the terrace before settling in for the show.
