Every week, Gilley's Saloon throws open the doors for a bit of good old-fashioned bragging rights on the barroom floor. The Toughest Cowboy Competition puts everyday folks up against each other in a test of grit, nerve, and whatever it takes to prove you've got the stuff of a real cowboy. Set inside the saddle-seated, leather-and-denim atmosphere of Gilley's, with the Gilley Girls keeping the crowd loose and the drinks flowing, the contest turns barflies and weekend warriors into competitors for a night, all cheered on by whoever happens to be bellied up to the bar.

There's no cost to throw your hat in the ring, just the requirement that you're 21 or older with ID in hand. Cash is on the line for whoever comes out on top, but even if you're just there to watch, there's plenty of entertainment in seeing your neighbors and total strangers alike take a swing at cowboy glory under the neon-and-saddle charm of one of the Strip's most Western-flavored saloons.
