There's something delightfully wrong about watching the undead do a kick line, and that's exactly the pitch at V Theater with Zombie Burlesque. Set in an atomic-age diner where the entire staff and clientele happen to be reanimated corpses, the show mashes together sketch comedy, musical numbers, and classic burlesque tease, all backed by a live band playing swing and big-band arrangements. The cast leans hard into the camp - rotting bow ties, greaser hairdos, and dance numbers that look like a 1950s sock hop got left out in the sun too long.
The humor runs broad and self-aware, poking fun at both zombie movie tropes and old-school Vegas showroom conventions, while still delivering the sequins-and-feathers spectacle that burlesque fans come for. It's an odd combination on paper - horror-comedy variety show meets glamour revue - but it's found a long life on the Strip precisely because it doesn't take itself seriously for a second. Expect a host character guiding the chaos, a rotating cast of specialty acts, and enough winking innuendo to keep things feeling adult without turning explicit.
