Shark Reef sits at the far south end of Mandalay Bay, past the convention space, and holds more than 2,000 animals across fourteen exhibits: sharks of a dozen species, a Komodo dragon, green sea turtles, giant rays, piranhas and a golden crocodile.
The centrepiece is a 1.3-million-gallon shipwreck tank you walk through inside a clear tunnel, with sharks passing overhead. There is a touch pool with stingrays and horseshoe crabs, and the aquarium runs paid add-on feeds for the sharks, rays and sea turtles where you take part directly.
It is the only aquarium of its size in Las Vegas and reliably one of the better options with children. Admission includes an audio guide and the VR experience. Guided tours run at 3:00 PM Monday through Saturday and at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 PM on Sunday.
