Eight years running now, Summer of Ska packs Grey Witch's 400-cap room with a full day lineup of upstroke guitars, blaring horn sections, and the kind of crowd that skanks from the first note to the last. Grey Witch & Good Girlfriend Records bring together a stacked bill of fifteen bands spanning the genre's range — traditional ska, two-tone throwbacks, and ska-punk energy — with Raskahuele, Undisputed, World Champions, and Warsaw Poland Brothers sharing the stage with a deep bench of local and touring acts including The Odd Advantage, La Chapuza, Chudson, Social Control, Los Ataskados, Swigfoot, Enjoiska, Los Domngueros, Big Time, Robert Stokes Band, and Whyoming.
With doors opening early in the afternoon, this one's built for a marathon, not a sprint — plenty of time to grab a slice of Detroit-style pizza between sets, catch your breath at the bar, and dive back into the pit. The all-ages policy means the whole family or crew can pile in together, making it as much a community gathering as a concert. Expect horns cutting through the mix, sweat-soaked flannel, and a room full of people who know every word to bands you've probably never heard of yet.
