Baz Luhrmann's dazzling jukebox musical gets the big-screen treatment at The Beverly Theater, bringing all the sequins, can-can kicks, and anachronistic pop mashups to downtown Vegas's most intimate arthouse venue. Set in the bohemian underworld of 1899 Paris, the film follows a penniless writer who falls for a beautiful courtesan at the legendary Moulin Rouge nightclub, all while Elton John, David Bowie, and Nirvana lyrics somehow feel right at home in the can-can era.

The Beverly's 150-seat main theater is a fitting space for a film this visually saturated. Its excellent acoustics catch every swelling orchestral hit and pop-song crescendo, while the red curtains and warm lighting of the venue echo the movie's own theatrical, velvet-draped aesthetic. This is the kind of film that rewards a proper theater experience, with color and spectacle that can feel diminished on a home screen.

Whether you know every word of "Elephant Love Medley" or you've somehow never seen this one, there's something about watching Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman fall in love through song on a big screen that hits differently than streaming it at home. Grab a cocktail from the lounge beforehand and settle in for a couple hours of tragic romance, absurd spectacle, and songs you'll be humming for days.
