The Doo-Wah Riders roll into Gilley's Saloon bringing four decades of Southern California roadhouse energy with them. This is a band that's been at it long enough to have the chops down cold, but they play with the kind of spark that suggests they still genuinely love what they're doing up there. Their sound splits the difference between honky-tonk twang and Louisiana bayou grit, a self-described blend of high energy country with a cajun twist that doesn't sound quite like anyone else on the circuit.

Gilley's is the right room for this kind of show, all leather saddle seats and worn wood, a bar built for boot heels and cold beer. The Doo-Wah Riders have logged plenty of stage time across the country and overseas, and that experience shows in tight arrangements, whether they're working through their own material or putting their spin on country classics. Expect a band that knows how to read a crowd and keep the two-step going deep into the night.
