Jimmy Carr brings his particular brand of dark, razor-sharp wit to the Encore Theater, a setting intimate enough that his deadpan delivery and perfectly timed pauses land with full force. Known for jokes that make you laugh before you've fully decided whether you should, Carr builds his sets on wordplay, taboo subjects, and a willingness to go places most comedians steer clear of. His stage presence is understated but commanding, often just him, a microphone, and a crowd caught between gasps and cackles.

The material leans heavily into the kind of humor that thrives on discomfort, the jokes often circling back on themselves with twists that catch you off guard. Carr's British sensibility mixes dry understatement with gleeful provocation, and the Encore Theater's design puts you close enough to catch every arched eyebrow and smirk that punctuates his delivery. Expect a set that doesn't pull punches, built for an audience ready to laugh at things they might not admit to finding funny anywhere else.
