Major Lazer

Major Lazer started in 2008 as a project between Diplo and Switch, built around an unapologetically eclectic idea: run Jamaican dancehall and reggae through the machinery of club music and see what happens. The lineup has evolved over the years — Walshy Fire and Ape Drums among the current members, with America Foster joining as a vocalist in 2025 — but the sound has stayed recognizably theirs.

"Lean On," with MØ and DJ Snake, became one of the most-streamed songs in history and pulled the project into the pop mainstream, alongside "Get Free," "Light It Up" and "Cold Water." The catalog moves freely between reggaeton, soca, house and moombahton, and the collaborations read like a map of global pop.

Their live show is closer to a sound-system party than a traditional DJ set — high tempo, heavy on the drops, and designed to keep an entire arena moving rather than watching.
