SHUCKED brings its Tony Award-winning brand of musical comedy to Reynolds Hall, proving that country music and corn-based humor make for surprisingly sharp theater. This isn't your typical Broadway transplant – the show earned its stripes with a book by Robert Horn (who also penned Tootsie) and original music from Grammy-winning country songwriters Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally, the duo behind Kacey Musgraves' breakout hit "Follow Your Arrow." The Wall Street Journal called it "flat out hilarious," which is high praise coming from a publication that usually sticks to stock quotes.

The musical takes place in a small town dealing with a corn crisis (yes, really), and somehow spins that premise into something both silly and genuinely clever. Under the direction of Tony winner Jack O'Brien, known for his work on Hairspray, the show leans into its rural roots while keeping the comedy smart and the music catchy. Reynolds Hall's grand setting – with its sweeping balconies and full orchestra pit – gives the production the space it needs to fully embrace its down-home charm on a big stage.
